It is often said that we all travel through life trying to just fit in. While life is not as simple as just fitting in, it is important to be able to be happy with what you do, to provide value in life, and to be content with your overall life. Each of these points can ensure that you lead a healthy and successful life. So how do you go about finding out where you will best fit in? How do you find your niche, that place where you belong? Here are some great ways that you can go about things in order to find your niche.

Find Out Where You Are Needed

A great place to start is by finding out where there is a need. The internet is a great starting place where you can look. You can go to different employee recruitment websites. Glance around and see what types of jobs are available. Check out freelance job sites and places like Ebay. Make a note of the categories that are demanding the highest pay.

You can also swing by a local store that sells magazines and see what see what types of interests they are catering to. You can also do the same in newspapers. Buy a couple newspapers and magazines and scan the classified ads and see what the jobs that are the most in demand are. Finally, you could do a search for what the most sought out college degrees are. These are just a few examples, but enough to get an idea and a good list going of what is currently in demand.

Find What You Are Good At

Equally as important as what is in demand is to understand what you like to do. One of the worst possible things that you can do is to spend your life dedicating your time and efforts to something that you do not like. It will make for a miserable and unfulfilling future. The place to begin is by looking around where you live. Look at the books and magazines that you have lying around. Check out what is on your walls and what types of things you have lying around.

Next, go over your typical week. Think of what you like to do and where you like to spend your free time. Finally, ask yourself what types of things you have always wanted to do. These tasks will give you a good sample of what activities make you happy.

See Where You Come Up Short and Take Action

The final step is to take your two lists and to compare them. If you have on one list that you like to spend a lot of your free time writing and surfing social websites and on your other list that there is a demand for social media marketing positions, you may have found your niche. However, more than likely the process will not be so simple. There will be some type of disconnect between what you like to do and what is in demand; this is okay. Here you may need to consider maybe taking a course or two so that you can become more attain the proper skill set for areas that are in demand. It is also a good idea to talk to a recruiter or to one of your mentors and to have them help you evaluate your lists.
