What is Forum Marketing?

One of the most online tools that have proven to bring a lot of attention to whatever you are promoting online is forum marketing. Search engines love content, but they tend to love conversations more. Threads create activity from different parts of the world resulting to viral effect that attracts search engines. Create an interesting topic and it remains in the forum site to be read by a lot of members and unique visitors repeatedly. Insert a link to your blog and you have traffic going on day in and day out, long after you first started that thread.

Community forum or forum sites are dynamic websites that allow people to share their ideas, ask questions, get answers, and start a topic or a discussion.  Most forum sites concentrate on one subject with different categories. If it’s about health and wellness; you’ll find different categories such as: diet, nutrition, weight loss, physical fitness, and so on. Whatever hobbies, business, or any topic that you can think of, you will find a forum created specifically for that. If you are a newbie, it is easy to get addicted to community of people who share the same interests and passions with you.

How do forum sites help to promote your product?

Forum brings together like minded people with common interest. If you are promoting a particular product, you want to reach out to people who will be most interested. And the best place to find them is to go to community forums with topics related to what you have.

It should have been easy, but it’s not as easy as what you think. Since Internet marketers discovered the power of forum marketing, a sudden influx of bloggers and sales people filled in the sites with promotions and spam that brought about the creation of forum rules, where one of it is a total ban for spammers.

So you don’t go around and blatantly post words like “Hello everyone! Check out my website at www.blah blah.com”.  It doesn’t do well on community forums.
