Google+ is Google’s latest venture into social media. In the past Google has made several attempts to venture into the social media scene. For a variety of reasons, the company has never really been able to make a dent in the market. They have made several internal efforts and have even bought and absorbed various startups. However, none of their efforts have panned out as planned, until now. Meet Google+, the company’s newest and easily its greatest social media. Here is a quick introduction to what Google+ is all about.
A Way to Communicate With Others
Google+ links directly to your Gmail account and allows you to stay in better touch with your co-workers, friends, and family. You can share where you are and what you are doing on your profile and by showing your friends where you are. With Google+ you can send and receive messages from all your circles. Your circles are your group of contacts on Google+. The platform also gives you the option to chat with your contacts. You even have the capability of having a group chat with as many as nine people at the same time. Another cool feature is that you have the ability to have video conferences with any of your contacts; a group video option is also available.
A Way to Promote Your Business
Google+ recently rolled out its pages for businesses.
This part of the platform is an answer to the company pages and profiles that other social networks offer. You can use Google+ to promote any aspect of your business. You can share information about the services or products that you sell. You can keep your employees all on the same page by posting important company updates, events, or sending internal messages to your employees with relevant information.

Finally, and maybe most important, Google+ is a great social network. With Google+ you can connect easily to anyone on the internet. Even better, due to its integration with Google’s Gmail service, you can easily connect all of your friends and family to your circles. Consider your circles a subgroup within all of your contacts. You can create a circle just for your family or for your buddies that you hang out with every Wednesday night. You can choose to share what you want with who you want. Upload all of your photos and videos and share them with only the circles that you want to give access to the information. The Hangouts option in Google+ allows you to connect with up to nine friends at a time regardless of where you are and to interact with them. It’s the closest thing to going out and randomly running into one of your close friends at a mall or the movies.
As you can see, Google+ offers everything that you could want in a social network. The platform has been very well thought out and is offers something for everyone.
