Where to Find Freelancers

When I started to venture into the Internet Marketing industry, I realized the vast amount of work needed to make this work. So I figured I needed some help from freelancers who can design my website, create my logo, do some of the articles, attend to community sites, create an eBook, and so on. I wouldn’t be able to focus on the more important task if I do them alone.

So off I went to find freelancers. I went to Craigslist, hired a friend of a friend, and tried referrals. For quite some time, my experience with them has been a nightmare. There were missed deadlines, communication issue, and a lot of headaches and frustrations. Not to mention the money and time wasted working with the wrong people.

I was skeptical at first thinking of my previous experience, but my hopes have gone up when I sorted through the profiles, portfolios, and found great reviews on most freelancers.

I went through the different websites like Elance, Vworker, and Scriptlance in search for freelancers, and I would say that oDesk stood out based on some important factors:

1. Pay only for the time worked
oDesk uses software that takes screenshots of the contractor’s computer at regular intervals and save it for both of you to review before processing the payment. With this system, you are guaranteed that you are paying for something due to you. And if you find something wrong, it’s easy to file a dispute before making that payment.

2. Easy to use
Posting a job is so easy with oDesk 1-2-3 done step. Best of all, they offer another alternative if you prefer to choose among their list of freelancers. You can navigate and search for contractors based on reviews, hourly rate, language proficiency and test results.

3. Reasonable rate
First, posting a job is free. If you hire someone for $11 an hour, $1 goes to oDesk and the $10 goes to your contractor. If you think about it, finding a freelancer is almost free. What else can you ask for?

4. Build a team in one place
They have almost all the talents you will be looking for.
